In May 1973, Wally Smith Poured Foundations was started with a bulldozer, backhoe, dump truck, and trailer. Wally and his brother David worked primarily in the areas of residential site work, utilities, and concrete foundations throughout the 1970’s and into the 1980’s.
In 1988 Wally and Dave incorporated and started W&D Smith and Sons. In the early 1990’s, W&D Smith and Sons supplemented their residential work with commercial projects because of the slowing housing market.
W&D Smith and Sons continued to experience steady growth throughout the 1990’s and were awarded their first bonded job in 1999. In January 2005, Smith Site Development LLC was formed to supplement the growth of the business family. W&D Smith and Sons and Smith Site Development LLC together form the Smith Companies.
